Some Concept about BW

InfoObject:
Business analysis-objects (customers, sales volumes, and so on) are called InfoObjectsin SAP BI.These InfoObjects can be divided into characteristics and key figures.

InfoCube:
The central data containers that form the basis for reports and analyses in SAP BI arecalled InfoCubes. They contain key figures (sales volumes, incoming orders, actualcosts, and so on) and a link to the characteristics (master data of the SAP BI systemsuch as cost centers, customers, materials, and so on).
If you want to store anInfoCube, you create a new folder or use an existing one. This is similar to the methodused when storing data on your PC: These folders are called InfoAreas in SAP BI.

InfoProvider:
InfoProvider is the super-ordinate term for an object that you can use to create reportsin Business Explorer (BEx). InfoProviders are objects or views that are relevantto reporting.

InfoProvidersdeliver data that can be analyzed using a query. There are two types of data stores. Physical stores include:
*InfoCubes
*DataStore Objects
*InfoObjects (of type characteristic)
Logical views of physical data stores include:
*InfoSets
*Virtual Providers
*MultiProviders

Power users can use the BEx Query Designer to create queriesbased on data stored in BI data providers in an easy and intuitive manner using Dragand Drop. Analyses and reports can draw on components that need to be created onlyonce but can be reused in many queries. BEx queries and query views are the basisfor analyses, reports, and planning scenarios in the BEx Web Application Designer,BEx Report Designer, and BEx Analyzer (Excel Add-in).
